In recent news, Alexander Vinokourov has retired from cycling. He was originally banned for only one year by the Kazakhstan government. He would have been able to compete in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Many were surprised by the light sentence, especially the UCI. Vino announced his retirement on December 7th. Vinokourov said, "I am stopping competition ... It's a definitive decision," he told a news conference. "I don't want this sport anymore ... I'm slamming the door and I'm leaving." This is again another negative headline to the sport of cycling. But what about those who are clean? |

A Happy Thanksgiving to all of you on CCB, and those of you who ride a bike! Enjoy the turkey, and put in some good miles the next day to burn off those extra pounds you put on! There is more to come on CCB's website. More profiles will pop up after Thanksgiving. Thank you to all who have given their info for the website. The website will be even better soon! Again enjoy your Thanksgiving, and safe riding! |
