A much anticipated race, the Michael Schott Memorial Circuit Race will be a first this season to many. With the 4/5 cat sign ups filling up quick, it sure will be a fantastic race. For some it is their very first race ever. And to be doing it with CCB they are some happy guys. Two that I personally know of are James Freitas, and Brian Gaffey. They are two strong riders that are looking forward to a great year of racing. As well all are on CCB. Hopefully this is will be a big year for some, especially the Elite Guys. This race is a great kick off to the cycling season, especially having it on March 30th. Good luck to all the CCB members that will race it!

In recent news, Alexander Vinokourov has retired from cycling. He was originally banned for only one year by the Kazakhstan government. He would have been able to compete in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Many were surprised by the light sentence, especially the UCI. Vino announced his retirement on December 7th. Vinokourov said, "I am stopping competition ... It's a definitive decision," he told a news conference. "I don't want this sport anymore ... I'm slamming the door and I'm leaving." This is again another negative headline to the sport of cycling. But what about those who are clean?
